My failure bought me a ticket around the world!

Shadow of life.

Aku officially college dropout, kena buang sebab failed 1 paper. Instead sending me down the drain, sobbing and howling in despair; it got me around the world. Yeah, a ticket to see the world! Alhamdullilah...am glad that I actually failed because there's a rainbow after the heavy rain.

Maybe tak ramai yang tak tahu that I fleed the country just before and after the news that I was officially sacked. Some people might say, bazir duit! But I see it as investment to my life, life is too short to worry! I used all my savings I had, every single dime I had was put out for my 1 month of fantastic journey!

Banyak benda that I learned traveling and seeing the world. Things that you'll never get in class. Things that are not in the book. They never teach you life skill, all they do is teach you knowledge.

Memang hidup ni susah, tu aku pon takkan tipu. Ada masa yang kau akan jatuh teruk, rasa nak bangun tu takkan akan mampu, but believe me, kau sebenarnya dilahirkan mampu untuk tempuhi apapun dugaan Tuhan berikan. Itu yang aku tahu after coming back!

So, kawan2!

The world is waiting for you.

Jangan putus asa. bak kata Josh Gorban "Don't give up, It's just the weight of the world" . Semua benda ni bagi aku adalah ujian untuk uji kau, sama ada kau mampu bertahan atau tidak.

If He brings you into it, He will certainly bring you through it. Have faith in God, have faith in yourself, have faith in Life.

Kau dan aku dah sememangnya fated to be tested. Memang kekadang tu teramat lah berat, air mata tu berbaldi2 mengalir, cokelat cadbury habis sepuluh papan kau telan. Aku pernah berada kat tempat kau dan akan sentiasa ada. Percayalah, siapa tahu, Tuhan dah sediakan kau kebahagian in future.

20 hours train ride without aircond, halal food. Priceless!

Aku tahu this is not the end of my journey. Hidup aku jauh lagi. Doesn't mean ko takda degree, you are screwed. Silap tu...

Trippin South East Asia: Singapore Part 2.

Tak busy pon, just penyakit malas nak update. Kalau nak tau permulaan Trippin South East Asia selama sebulan aku ni, baca Part 1.

Pintu masuk adventure anda. ;D

The day actually continues dengan aku ke The National Museum of Singapore. Lemme tell you, I love museum. Ada minah kat hostel reception asked, why museum? Kenapa tak go see the people, be on street and all? (coz I actually asked her how many museum are there in Singapore! Haha..semangat kan?)

Of coz lah I like to see the locals and all but museum answers the question on HOW all the current things are how they are at. So yeah…. (sorry, I sound so philospherical aites? :P)

Since aku duduk dekat The Inn-crowd, receptionist cakap dekat jer nak jalan, actually agak jauh lah, so aku ambik bus, since aku dah ada , tap jer and naik , turun dekat bus stop depan museum. Easy!

Museum kat Singapore ni is situated in a very colonial building, I believe it was one of the buildings build during the British colonization. Aku ingat kecik jerrr…ye lah, seeing from outside, it looks small though. But rupanya, it has some extension at the back. A more modern extension of coz. ..

Batu ajaib temasek.. haha...takleh, aku tipu jer. batu ni batu bersurat pertama Temasek. Cer tgk dekat..ada inscription sanskrit.

The fees is S$ 10 for normal entry but disebabkan I still have my student card that is valid till 2014, I only paid S$ 5. Yay! Save duit aku kan? Haha…but even if I have to pay S$10, it will be money well spent.

Sapaan pertama di pintu masuk, dia cakap semekommmm...haha...aku tipu jugak. :P

Jom rompak emas hang li po..giler! hantu dia kejor nanti!

Ni serius aku kagumm..tak silap dah beratussss tahunnn beb..

Aku cadangkan korang masuk the main area first, coz it’ll take a longer time there coz it’s the main area lah..haha.. at the door, you have to give your ticket and you’ll be given your very own “tour guide”! how awesome kan Singapore ni? (Takpalah, museum Malaysia “traditional” sikit :P )

Ni lah tour guide yang korang bakal dapat. Kalau fefeeling nak lelaki hot teman aweks, pilih lah tour guide jantan..haha

Dalam main area ni jer, I spent almost like 2 hours ++ kot, even at this one section, you have to choose which area you would to walk through. Ala2 novel different ending for different people lah keluar dari this museum.

beskal jual cendolll...serius weh...

Bagi yang sukakan museum, aku rasa museum ni antara yang terbaik aku pernah jumpa and masuk!

Don't give up, you are loved. (Updated)

Pernah tak setiap semester kau fail paper, takpun kau terpaksa berpisah dengan keluarga kerana salah faham, ataupun ada sahaja benda yang jadi that makes you feel that nak give up? Benda tu semua normal, aku pun ada masa rasa nak lari tinggalkan Malaysia, nak tinggalkan semua problems but I'm not a quitter and you should be one too.

Memang hidup ni susah, tu aku pon takkan tipu. Buat adik2 yang masih di sekolah, percayalah zaman sekolah tu zaman yang terbaik. Setakat brake up makwe/pakwe tu takda benda lah. Life as an adult either ruins you or brings success to you.

Ada masa yang kau akan jatuh teruk, rasa nak bangun tu takkan akan mampu, but believe me, kau sebenarnya dilahirkan mampu untuk tempuhi apapun dugaan Tuhan berikan.

Setiap kali kau nak give up, rasa suicidal, rasa nak mati, rasa nak lari atau nak buat benda bodoh sebab kau dah tak tahan, STOP, tell yourself "Aku kuat, aku kuat, aku kuat!" , bagitau diri kau yang Tuhan takkan biarkan kau keseorangan.

Kalau kau rasa betul2 tak mampu, kau mintak tolong kat kaunselor ke or siapa2 yang kau rasa mampu bantu kau. Tapi kalau kau memang takda sapa2 dah, meh email aku, r.haries.er [at]gmail[dot]com . Aku tolong mana aku mampu okay?

Takkan Forever Alone.

Kau single? Tak pernah couple wahmal sekali pon? Chill lah, aku pon. Siapa tak rasa sunyi, jealous tgk budak2 rumah kau couple , dating pagi petang siang malam. Lagi pedih bila tengok cousin2 ko kahwin seh , oh sebak! Tapi yakin lah yang kau tak mungkin forever alone.

Nak kata aku ni jenis nak kena ada orang sentiasa di sisi, tak lah jugak. But aku tahu ada jer minah2 ataupun abg2 muka genster tapi dalam hati taman klcc yang macam manapun kena ada teman disisi. Some people just need the other half to live their life, sort of their life support machine. C'mon people, selama ni ko hidup jer takda the other half. You gotta be strong girls and tough guys!

Percayalah, kalau kau sekarang single, putus cinta dah sebagainya, your the other half is waiting. You know what, I always believe that the right person that God has decided for you, is somehow, somewhere outside there waiting for you. Bila the time is right and kau dah bersedia, Tuhan akan bawakkan kau pada dia atau vice versa. Percayalah....

PEMBUKAAN PASAR RAYA BESAR MYDIN TAMAN SAGA, ALOR SETAR, KEDAH DARUL AMAN.

55 Tahun MYDIN MOHAMED HOLDINGS BERHAD

Mulanya hanyalah sekadar menjual barang-barang permainan dan barangan keperluan di kaki-kaki lima dan pasar malam. Tuan Gulam Hussein, bapa kepada Tuan Mydin Mohamed pada ketika itu gigih mengusahakan perniagaannya di Pulau Pinang sekitar tahun 1940-an. Namun, perniagaannya musnah akibat tercetusnya Perang Dunia ke-2 .

Setelah 55 tahun penubuhannya, MYDIN kini berjaya memperkembangkan perniagaan dan memiliki sehingga 97 rangkaian perniagaan yang terdiri daripada 18 buah emporium, 8 buah pasar raya besar (hypermarket), 9 buah kedai serbaneka 24 jam (MyMart), 53 buah pasar mini (MyMydin), 6 buah francais (MydinMart) dan 3 buah bazaar.

PERASMIAN HARI INI – PASAR RAYA BESAR YANG KE-8 DIBUKA

Hari ini, Pasar Raya Besar MYDIN Yang Ke-lapan (8) di Malaysia berjaya dibuka selepas 2 bulan Pasar Raya Besar MYDIN Yang Ke-7 dibuka di Kulai Jaya Johor pada hujung Disember yang lalu.

Hypermarket ini merupakan hypermarket pertama MYDIN yang dibuka di negeri Kedah yang juga merupakan cawangan MYDIN ke-dua (2) beroperasi setelah pembukaan MydinMart Alor Setar yang berkonsepkan francais telah dibuka di Jalan Mahsuri, Alor Setar pada 21 Ogos 2001.

Majlis perasmian disempurnakan oleh Tuan Mydin Mohamed, Pengasas dan Pengerusi Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad. Turut mengiringi beliau ialah isterinya, Puan Rowshen, Tuan Haji Saduruddin, iaitu adik beliau berserta isteri, Encik Azmin Saduruddin, Pengurus MYDIN cawangan Utara, dan juga ahli lembaga pengarah yang lain.

Dijangkakan juga pembukaan MYDIN di sini akan memberi manfaat untuk penduduk dari Perlis, Pendang dan Jitra untuk datang menikmati tawaran harga rendah & borong MYDIN seperti yang dirasai oleh semua pelanggan sebelum ini.

Bangunan hypermarket ini berkeluasan keseluruhannya sebanyak 104,000 kaki persegi, di mana 40,000 kaki persegi adalah merupakan keluasan pasar raya.

Manakala yang selebihnya adalah merupakan 22 buah lot kedai dengan berkeluasan antara 96 - 430 kaki persegi dan 18 buah lot bazaar yang berkeluasan 100 kaki persegi.

MYDIN juga menyediakan sudut jualan untuk makanan RTE “Ready To Eat” yang dijual dengan harga yang sangat rendah. Ianya telah dipek untuk mudah dibawa dan boleh terus dimakan. Pelanggan yang mempunyai bajet yang rendah untuk hidangan makanan boleh mencuba membeli di sudut RTE ini.

Trippin South East Asia: Singapore Part 1.

Singapore.

The train departed at about 8pm from KL Sentral. I did nothing much in the train besides sleeping, and eating..haha. It took about 7 hours to reach Woodlands checkpoint; Singapore Immigration was a breeze.

It was about 6 am and I seriously had no idea how to get to the city from Woodlands. The only thing I knew, it was farrrr… haha.

Met with this couple from Paris who was travelling Asia, I got to practice my French! Tu est parle francais? ;)

We took the bus to Woodlands MRT which cost S$ 1.10. Since Karim and Aishah (the French couple) had little Singapore Dollars, we waited till about 10am at a mall besides Woodlands MRT.

We parted ways as I needed to get to Ang Mo Kio station to get my Tourist Card that cost S$8/per day. The card entitled me with unlimited travel on bus, MRT, as well as LRT on all lines. You need to ask the counter which station has this card.

Plus, with the price of the card, you would need to pay a deposit of S$10, it will be returned once you return your card.

In Singapore, the first time you purchase your ticket for the MRT/LRT, the price will be added with S$1 deposit for the ticket. You can hold on to the card if you need to use the MRT/LRT again.

If you are done with the travel of the day, simply return the card to the machine and you’ll get your S$1 back!

After Ang Mo Kio, I took the MRT on the Red Line and interchanged at Dhobi Ghout (Purple line) to go to Little India. I didn’t book any hostel as this trip was rather a random one, so I had to stroll around Little India.

And to make it worst, it was raining!

But after asking around, I was told that there are Checkers, The Inn-Crowd and some other hostels in that area. All other hostels were full; I ended up getting a bed at The Inn-Crowd. It cost S$20 per night with free breakfast and wifi.

I was tired that I slept throughout the morning and woke up about 1pm.

It so happened when I was just done showering, this one guy from Australia was looking for his bed. We had some chat and I excused myself as I wanted to find some lunch. He actually wanted to join me. We ate at this Vegetarian Indian Food shop.

He took out his chess set and we played it there (I’m not much of a chess player but yeah, it was weird game), he was super nice that he picked up the check for lunch! How more awesome it could be? ;)
